What is a ha'penny sparrow?

Ha'penny (pronounced "haypenny") is an old-fashioned word for another old-fashioned word, halfpenny, which is an old-fashioned English coin that has lost itself in history.  The name I chose, Ha'penny Sparrow, comes from here:

"Are not two little sparrows sold for a penny? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father's leave (consent) and notice.  But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.  Fear not, then; you are of more value than many sparrows."
--Matthew 10:29-31

Sparrows are still a common and seemingly unimportant little animal, and yet God pays attention to them.  I'm that much more overwhelmed by how much He loves me, to see that He loves them!  I care whether my hair is pretty, and if it's thick or thin, but I really don't care to know the exact number of hairs on my head.  But God loves me enough that He cares to know me well, to even know things about me that I don't know or consider important.  God's notice is what makes the minutiae of any life worth recording, and His love for us makes them worth treasuring and enjoying.
